We spoke with Reed Wilson, owner, principal broker, and coach at The Wilson Group, about his experience with Paperless Pipeline. Here’s what he had to say:
Why Did The Wilson Group Leave Paperless Pipeline?

For over 10 years, The Wilson Group used Paperless Pipeline to manage transactions efficiently. However, as the brokerage grew, Reed sought a solution with more built-in features, particularly one that could handle accounting operations in addition to transaction management.
Three months into using the new platform, Reed realized that it just wasn’t working for his brokerage. “The word I use is clunky,” he said. “It was very challenging to navigate from a transaction point of view.”
Reed was looking for simple reporting and the ability to find documents at the push of a button.
He wanted to be able to see upcoming transactions each month so that he could determine his company income. He found the software they were using was far too complex to pull quick reports and find what he needed fast enough.
“That’s what I need as a broker to lead my team,” he says. “To show where we’re doing great, where the gaps are, and so forth.”
Before switching back to Paperless Pipeline, Reed interviewed his team about their current software.
He spoke to several of his agents and admins about which system they preferred, and they made it clear that they much preferred the ease of use, organization, and detailed reports our software provides.
The Paperless Pipeline Solution
The transition back to Paperless Pipeline wasn’t without its challenges. Because their new platform lacked unlimited backups, transactions had to be manually transferred. However, Reed and his team knew the effort would be worthwhile.
“The team buy-in was amazing; they were ready for it,” he explains.
Even though he had to resume using separate accounting software, Reed believes the investment is justified: “Even though my expense is higher now, the headache is gone.”
He says that Paperless Pipeline was the only solution he considered when he realized it was time to leave the software the brokerage had switched to. “Let me go back to what I know works,” he thought.
What Reed Tells Other Brokerages and Agents about Paperless Pipeline
Reed coaches other brokers and agents and often tells them about Paperless Pipeline in the process—simply because he finds our software so helpful.
He explains that the systems brokers use should be focused on transactions. “The bulk of the system is meant to manage transactions; it’s our filing cabinet,” he says.
Paperless Pipeline is invaluable to Reed’s team because everything is available at the click of a button, from storing documents and reference tabs to robust reporting.
We offer various reports to assist brokers in staying informed and up-to-date with what’s happening within their business, including:
- Custom transaction reports: Powerful search and filter options enable you to create tailored transaction views, including closings in the next 30 days, date range-specific reports, and recent status changes.
- Usage by agent reports: You can track and measure individual user activities within Paperless Pipeline. This report provides insights into account creation dates, the number of documents uploaded and reviewed, and transactions created and closed.
- Monthly production summary emails: Agents can receive monthly emails detailing their year-to-date and previous month’s production metrics, such as sales volumes or commissions. Admins can enable this feature company-wide, and agents have the option to opt in or opt out of receiving these summaries.
He says that the brokers he speaks to often feel that they need an all-in-one platform because it saves costs and keeps everything in one hub. This is something that he thought he would get when he left Paperless Pipeline.
“I thought I’d be able to keep agents in one hub, but I came to find out they weren’t even using it to begin with,” Reed explains.
Paperless Pipeline Is Here to Stay
Reed says that, while he thought switching to a more ‘all-in-one’ platform would streamline his operations, he soon realized that he needed purpose-built software for transaction management.
Paperless Pipeline has been designed to help brokers manage their transactions and support their agents, transaction coordinators, and admins throughout every transaction.
Our software automates and simplifies the transaction process while providing robust reporting and easy document access.
For these reasons, Reed says Paperless Pipeline is the solution he and his team will be sticking to moving forward.
